Dr. Manish Agrawal currently heads the Department; it had a humble beginning in 2006 with a small OPD, an inpatient department of 30 beds, and a few faculty members headed by Professor D. K. Sharma, has traversed a long journey and has blossomed into a full-fledged Department of Pediatrics, Neonatology, and Adolescent Medicine, with postgraduate teaching comprising four units, several OPDs and specialty clinics, and a daily immunization clinic, including the COVID-19 vaccination.

A 120-bed IPD, 15-bed NICU, and 15-bed PICU, with all the modern facilities, Neonatal Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (NICU/PICU): The unit has 15 beds for newborns, radiant warmer. It has 8 LED phototherapy units, along with all modern equipment, including three ventilators, HFNC, HHHFNC-6, two CPAP units, 20 infusion pumps, and facilities for central oxygen supply, controlled air conditioning, and laminar flow for drug preparation. The PICU consists of 15 beds, with all facilities including ventilators, HFNC, and BIPAP central oxygen, central suction, defibrillators, and monitors. The department has saved many extremely premature babies of 24-26 weeks(700gm). The department has an annual intake of 04 Postgraduate students. The Postgraduate Pediatrics Department of Muzaffarnagar Medical College is one of the top-class departments currently present in Uttar Pradesh.

Forensic Medicine is a Medical Specialty that deals with the application of Medical Knowledge in the administration of justice. The broad goal of teaching undergraduate students in forensic medicine are to produce a physician who is well-informed about medical-legal responsibilities in the practice of medicine. The students acquire knowledge of the law about medical practice, medical negligence, and respect for codes of medical ethics. The department has modern amenities with well-planned and furnished faculty rooms and offices.

It is equipped with computers and laptops for all the faculty, a Wi-Fi internet facility, and non-teaching staff rooms Departmental Research Laboratory, an outstandingly organized museum, a full-time operational staff library, and a student laboratory, three spacious Demonstration rooms and a seminar room with LCD projectors and audio-visual systems are also available. The Department maintains a separate mortuary block with modern equipment and instruments. It is located near the department and has two autopsy tables with a well-equipped viscera storage room and cold storage facility.   • The autopsy block (400 sq.m.) includes two autopsy tables, cold storage for dead bodies, ante-rooms, washing facilities, good lighting, ventilation, and space for demonstrations, with a capacity of 60-75 students, a waiting hall, and an office.

The Department of General Medicine started functioning in 2006 when MMC got approval to start an MBBS course for 100 seats. Later on, the Central Government and the Medical Council of India approved 150 seats, and MD (General Medicine) permission was given in 2012 with only two seats per year. At present, the Department of General Medicine is teaching 200 MBBS students and 8 MD (General Medicine) students per year.

The Department of Community Medicine of Muzaffarnagar Medical College has the utmost facilities for quality education and research The aim of Community Medicine is to provide comprehensive health care at the level of the community by a health team in terms of preventive, primitive, curative, and rehabilitative services The Department has requisite laboratories where teaching sessions on public health can be held. Microbiology and public health chemistry are conducted. The Department Museum has samples of vaccines, contraceptives, disinfectants, environmental models and instruments, disease models, charts, catalogs, etc. for demonstration to UG and PG students. It has a library for PG students, where the latest books and Journals are placed.

Our department has a well-equipped PG research laboratory. Urban Health Training Center and Rural Health Training Center are attached to the Department where General OPD, MCH, immunization, and DOTS with multispecialty clinics are held for the training of postgraduates, interns, and undergraduate students Urban Health Training Center is around 12 Km from the College and is located at Makki Nagar, Khalapar, Muzaffarnagar, and caters to about 70,000 populations. The Rural Health Training Center is situated at a radial distance of 13 Km from the Medical College in the village of Bilaspur Block-Sadar Tehsil Muzaffarnagar. It is functional in terms of providing comprehensive health services to eight nearby villages in Muzaffarnagar, catering to about 49,000 people. R.H.T.C. is also provided with an ambulance for critical cases. R.H.T.C. consists of the ground and first floors, with a total of 944 sq. m. of built-up area.

The center is well equipped with diagnostic services, including digital X-Ray and primary health care facilities, along with residential facilities for Interns, LMOs, and the center's in-charge. Adequate transport facilities for field activities are available. Department of Pharmacology

Pharmacology is a medical discipline that equips the doctor with the knowledge and skill to prescribe and evaluate medication therapy not only for the alleviation of disease and maintenance of health but also to serve the best interests of the people and a better understanding of the pathophysiological basis of disease processes. Keeping these things in mind the students are taught about their crucial role in the health care management system as future doctors. Teaching Pharmacology is done by taking regular classes practical’s, demonstrations, and seminars, and various new teaching-learning methods are adopted (interactive teaching and integrated teaching). Day-to-day assessment is done based on assignments, class tests, and lab leaving, viva voice. Three terminal examinations are also conducted for internal assessment. The department has a computer – assisted lab (CAL lab) which is for non-animal alternatives in experimental Pharmacology to simulate live experiments using animals. CAL laboratory at MMC is fully functional and well–furnished with A/C and 24/7 internet connectivity.

It has 25 computers with software where students can understand the effect of various drugs on animals. The department also has a Pharmacovigilance committee cell, therapeutic drug monitoring, and an animal house that is registered with the Committee for Control and Supervision of Experiments an animal (CCSEA) for Education and Research Purposes on small animals with a registration number of 1008/PO/ERe/S/06/CPCSEA. It is a well–equipped animal house with separate rooms for each species of small animal like Rats, Mice, and Rabbits. Besides these, there is a provision of quarantine rooms, experimental rooms, an O.T. room, a washing area, a store room, a changing room, and a staff office. The Department of Pharmacology is well–equipped with the latest technologies and instruments and has a regular, renowned, and experienced faculty. Their research work has been published in various national and International journals and they take active part in various national and International conferences and chair the sessions. The clinical Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy laboratories are well–equipped with mannequins and various drug delivery devices like rota halers, metered dose inhalers, spacers, insulin pens, nasal sprays, etc, as per the MMC guidelines. Anesthesia Services: The Department of Anaesthesiology provides anesthesia services to different specialty and super specialty departments, including general surgery, gynecology, obstetrics, Orthopedics, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, and super specialties like urology, reconstructive surgery, and neurosurgery. The department provides round-the-clock anesthesia services to more than 400 patients per month. PAC: The department provides regular anesthesia check-up facilities in the PAC Clinic, and for those patients who can't move to the PAC Clinic, like orthopedic patients, the PAC is done in the ward itself. Pain Clinic: The department deals regularly with pain management services for acute and chronic pain. and palliative care of patients suffering from neuralgias, Radiculopathies, Neave entrapments, Cancer Pain, Vascular Pain, and neuropathy-related pain, both fluoroscopically guided and Ultrasound-guided procedures are being done at the pain clinic. The monthly turnover of patients in The pain clinic is around 300. ICU and Emergency Services: The department has facilities for running 20-bedded ICUs {SICU, RICU, and MICU) and also provides airway management and hemodynamic mic support to sick patients in casualties and wards.

Operation Theaters: The O.T.s are modular with the latest workstations and multichannel monitors. Peripheral Nerve stimulators and Nerve locators are being used for guided regional block anesthesia and to monitor muscle relaxation. The department has the latest equipment for airway management, like bronchoscopes, laryngoscopes, supraglottic devices, vediolaryngoscopes, difficult airways, and emergency front-of-neck airway access. Resuscitation Training: The department provides regular resuscitation training to staff (Nursing Staff, OT Technician, Ward Boy, Doctor, Senior Resident, Junior Resident, Consultant). The department has an annual intake of 06 Postgraduate students annually.
